Friends Meeting Recap–April 20

About ten Phoenix Friends gathered to hear from Matthew Harp and Jill Tinsley.

Matthew is the Digital Library Production manager for the ASU Library. He was recently named one of Library Journal’s “Movers and Shakers” of 2010. (http://lib.asu.edu/librarychannel/2010/03/23/mharp/) Matthew told us about his job, and how he and the library staff, developed, created, and now produce videos for the ASU Library. Their series, Library Minute is very popular, and has brought national attention to the ASU library and its resources.

Jill Tinsley, an Educational Evangelist at yolink, told us a little about her very cool search tool (Check it out, and start using it now!) She also talked to us about her job search challenges and successes, and offered some very useful suggestions on how to look for a job in today’s market (or lack thereof).
