Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold is the world’s largest publicly traded copper company. The following unpaid internship is for summer or fall of 2009 in downtown Phoenix: Opportunity to assist with the inventory of archival and record materials for one of Arizona’s oldest copper companies. The project consists of performing an inventory of the company’s Corporate Records vault, which contains a mix of contracts, records destruction documentation, historical ledgers, archived historical Phelps Dodge photos, and much more. The project also includes cleanup of an Access-based archives database for transfer to the Corporate Records Department’s TRIM records database, and possible assistance with the inventory of historical materials (maps, deeds, films, etc.) stored in an offsite vault. This is an excellent chance to work with some really cool old stuff! Contact: Maryanne Siek, 602-366-8001, email@example.com
